Mission
The mission of the Tayloe Murphy Center is to facilitate community competitiveness through the development of practical research on what makes communities globally competitive, the dissemination of that knowledge to practitioners in the field and the sponsorship of interaction between stakeholders committed to making communities globally competitive.
The center works to meet this mission through initiatives that seek to:
- Engage challenged communities in the process of becoming economically competitive.
- Support and advance entrepreneurs who build wealth for themselves and their communities.
- Promote entrepreneurial best practices that lead to job growth and a strong social fabric.
- Engage with locally based talent to secure sustainable actions that lead to community competitiveness.
Our mission is based on three pillars:
Knowledge Into Action: Collaborate in the creation of programs that facilitate community-based economic action.
Knowledge Creation: Generate research that informs best practices in entrepreneurially driven social and economic change.
Knowledge Dissemination: Engage and connect thought-leading scholars and practitioners in the dissemination of best practices and key findings.
