Jack Oakes joined the CDC in February of 2005, was promoted to director in August of 2008 and to his current position in September 2010.  As assistant dean for career development, he leads all activities of the CDC including strategy development and implementation, management of the global portfolio of recruiting companies, career coaching of students, and direction and management of the CDC staff. He leads the career consultants in providing advice, coaching, and career search support to First and Second Year students, and acts as career consultant to students interested in Marketing. The career consultant team also works to strengthen relationships with existing Darden recruiting companies. As club liaison to the Marketing, Darden Capital Management, and Darden Private Equity clubs, Jack works with the club leadership to coordinate career development activities and company outreach. Additionally, Jack oversees the client services managers team, who work closely with on-Grounds recruiting companies in all aspects of recruiting activities. A Darden graduate, Jack received an MBA/MA in East Asian Studies in 1989 and spent the majority of his corporate career in marketing in consumer goods at Procter and Gamble and financial services at T. Rowe Price and Legg Mason.

Brendan Boler, Associate Director, Career Consultant

Brendan Boler joined the CDC as an assistant director, career consultant, focusing on students interested in consulting and strategy. He also serves as a faculty advisor to the Darden Military Association. Prior to coming to Darden, Brendan served as a captain in the U.S. Army and as an executive within Accenture’s management consulting practice. While with Accenture, he provided consulting services for such companies as AT&T, Cablevision, Cisco Systems, Ford Motor Company and Verizon Communications. In addition, Brendan has experience working in sales and trading at Morgan Stanley and private banking at Goldman Sachs. Brendan teaches courses and seminars in career management and case interviewing for First Year MBA students. He also teaches a Second Year course called “Coaching and Career Development.” He earned his MBA from the University of Chicago GSB and his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University. While at Georgetown, Brendan was the captain of the varsity football team and a member of Georgetown’s first nationally ranked varsity lacrosse team.

Connie Whittaker Dunlop, Career Consultant

Connie Whittaker Dunlop currently serves as the career consultant for the MBA for Executives program at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.  She teaches Darden’s Professional Advancement Course for executive MBAs and leads seminars in all aspects of career management. She advises MBA students on professional development topics, including setting career objectives, creating marketing plans, and writing cover letters and resumes. She is an expert in management consulting case interview preparation.  Connie joined the Darden team in 2007. Prior to Darden, she served as a management consultant with Capital One and Deloitte.  Connie earned a Darden MBA in 1998.

Denise Karaoli joined the CDC as assistant director of international programs and opportunities in September 2005. The role of the assistant director for international programs and opportunities is an additional resource for international students seeking positions in the U.S. and overseas, and U.S. students seeking international opportunities. Denise's main responsibilities include program and resource development, individual career counseling, and group instruction in career search strategies for the U.S. and abroad.  Denise also focuses on developing recruiting opportunities with international and multinational companies for the entire Darden student body and with U.S. companies for the international students. In addition, Denise provides career support for minority students, works with companies on diversity recruiting and is actively involved in the major diversity conferences.
Denise has 14 years of private and public international marketing and consulting experience with companies and organizations overseas and in the U.S. Prior to joining the CDC, Denise served in the President's, Vice President's and Provost's office at UVa for eight years, promoting international programs and activities at UVa and abroad. She also managed the university-wide strategic planning process (Virginia 2020). Denise holds a MA in International Relations from the University of Kent in the U.K. and a BS in Cross Cultural Studies from California Polytechnic State University.

S. Kellogg Leliveld serves as a career consultant at the University of Virginia, Darden Graduate School of Business.  In this role Kellogg focuses on cultivating relationships with corporations to build sustainable talent pipelines and partnerships in support of higher education needs.  Kellogg also teaches a series of classes to first year MBAs on career management and job search strategy and provides student coaching.  Kellogg serves as the Career Development Center (CDC) advisor to a number of student organizations including the Marketing Club, Energy Club, Education Club, and Net Impact club and oversees Darden’s student led job treks.  Kellogg joined the Darden CDC in 2004.  Prior to Darden, Kellogg spent nine years as a management consultant and worked in Strategic Planning with Toys "R" Us.  She also served as an independent consultant to Easter Seals. Kellogg earned an MBA from the University of Chicago, a master degree in Urban Planning from the University of Virginia, and a BS from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Kellogg currently serves on the board of the Virginia Discovery Museum and Camp Holiday Trails in Charlottesville, VA. 

Edward Yu, Associate Director, Career Consultant

Edward Yu joined the CDC team in October 2005. As a career consultant, Ed teaches career management, providing career advice to First and Second Year students. He is responsible for advising students interested in careers in investment banking, sales and trading and corporate finance. Ed serves as the liaison to the Finance Club and Private Equity Club. Prior to coming to Darden, Ed spent two years at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in MBA Career Services. Ed earned his MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. His work experience includes Sales and Trading at JP Morgan Asia and Investment Banking (M&A) at Merrill Lynch's Singapore, Seoul and Korea offices. Ed also worked in the New York office of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. His MBA internship was in Investor Relations at Guidant Corporation. Ed enjoys performing arts and has acted in the Heritage Theatre at UVa.

Kelly Conner supports Darden's ongoing effort to identify and cultivate job leads by forging new relationships with companies, partnering with alumni and current students, attending national career fairs and through online research. She also manages Darden's job posting system and leverages the insights gained through analysis of posting and hiring trends to help decide where to focus business development efforts. Kelly comes to this role after three years of experience as a client services manager in Darden’s Career Development Center, working with existing recruiting companies. Prior to coming to Darden, Kelly supported marketing for M Benefit Solutions in Portland, Oregon. She also has five years of customer service experience as a San Francisco-based flight attendant for United Airlines.

Debra Rizzo, the associate director of client services, has been with Darden since 1993 and joined the CDC team in 1997. Debra manages the client services team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with companies who come to recruit at Darden. She is also responsible for reporting all MBA statistical employment data for internal and external stakeholders. As a member of the MBACSC Research and Trends Committee, Debra works with other members to conduct research within the CSC membership to obtain information on items of interest to the membership and the public.

Angela Antenucci joined the CDC in 2006. She is the senior client services manager, responsible for managing the recruiting efforts of a broad portfolio of companies primarily in the financial industry. Her previous work experiences were in corporate marketing for First Consulting Group in Long Beach, California, and CH2M HILL in Reston, Virginia. Angela earned her BS degree from California State University.

Sean joined the CDC team in fall 2011 after graduating with his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia in May 2011, where he studied English Language & Literature and focused on creative writing.  Prior to joining the CDC Sean spent 3 years interning as the undergraduate assistant to U.Va.’s Office of Undergraduate Admission.  While at U.Va. he handled the logistical operations and event management for the University’s annual recruiting event: Days on the Lawn, which allows the newly admitted first-year class to attend an open house on Central Grounds. Sean works to uphold the mission of the CDC by lending his knowledge and experience in event management to the support of the office.  He initially joined the team as client services associate in August 2011 and has recently transitioned into associate for the Career Development Center.

Pamela Cline, Client Services Manager

Pamela Cline serves as a client services manager of the Career Development Center. Her role includes managing on-Grounds recruiting for a variety of companies. Prior to this role Pam served for 5 years as the assistant to the Office of Student Affairs at Darden, providing support and services to the MBA program, as well as a being a general resource for students.  She has also worked at the Keswick Country Club where she served as membership sales director and as the concierge for the club. Before joining Keswick, she worked at the University of Virginia in clinical research in the Department of Neurosurgery at the UVA Medical Center. She attended Mary Washington College. A resident of Charlottesville for 18 years and mother of two young adults she enjoys her time outside of Darden with her family, as well as walking, hiking, pilates, and all of the many activities offered within the Charlottesville community.

Tiffany Gutshall joined the Career Development Center in September 2009.  She is the recruitment coordinator, responsible for managing on-Grounds and off-Grounds recruiting events for Darden. Tiffany graduated from Hollins University in 2005 with a B.A. in Political Science & Economics and in 2008 with a M.A. in Liberal Studies.  Tiffany volunteers with the Service League of Hickory, NC, the American Heart Association and is the reunion chair for the Hollins University Class of 2005.

  

Communications and Marketing

Margaret Weeks, Communications and Marketing Manager

Margaret joined the CDC in July 2007 as communications and marketing manager. She is responsible for coordinating all forms of communications at the CDC including the CDC portal, the Employment Report, etc. Margaret has returned to the CDC after two years in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, where she was the responsible conduct of research coordinator, which involved developing a university-wide education program for faculty, staff and students on research ethics. She was also an assistant project leader, responsible for developing and procuring a research portal for the university research community. Prior to that, Margaret worked in the CDC for a year in a variety of roles. Her other work experience includes time spent in non-profits (The Alzheimer's Association) and private educational settings. Margaret has an M.Ed. from UVa and a B.A. from the College of Wooster. Margaret sits on the board of Parents for Ethical Adoption Reform, a national adoption advocacy and education group.
