The Global MBA for Executives admissions application is available online and is considered complete when all of the following items have been completed and submitted:
Requirements for All Applicants
- Admissions Application: This includes essays, a résumé, and the application fee.
- Letters of Recommendation: We require two letters of recommendations and strongly advise that one letter come from your direct manager or supervisor.
- Transcripts: We must receive an official transcript(s) for all undergraduate and graduate work completed.
- Company Support Letter from your employer: At a minimum, this letter acknowledges your interest in participating in the program, its applicability to your career advancement and your company’s support of the time commitment required to participate. The letter can include information on financial support being provided, although this is not required. This letter must be submitted on company letterhead with an original, inked signature.
- GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) or GRE: Please note that you can self-report your unofficial GMAT scores on your online application. You can also fax a copy of your unofficial score to our program office at (434) 243-2274. Candidates can submit a GRE score instead of a GMAT score.
In some cases, a waiver of the GMAT or GRE may be granted to candidates who hold an advanced degree in an analytic field. To request a waiver, please e-mail your résumé, academic transcripts and standardized test scores to GEMBA@darden.virginia.edu.
- Admissions Interview. All candidates to the Global MBA for Executives program are interviewed by a member(s) of the Admissions Committee either at Darden or through Skype. Requirement for Applicants Whose Native Language is Not English
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): The TOEFL may be waived if you completed university study at a school in which English was the medium of instruction or if you have several years of professional experience in an environment where English was the language spoken and written. Requests for a waiver of the TOEFL can be made to GEMBA@darden.virginia.edu.
